Taking a retro aesthetic and updating it with modern features, Britten Bride Vicky teamed a bespoke tea length wedding gown with a bespoke bridal headband to achieve a beautifully unique reflection of her personality and style on her wedding day.
Photographed by Cotswolds wedding photographer Katrina Bartlam throughout the day, the bride and groom welcomed their guests to grade two listed manor house The Moonraker hotel in Trowbridge, Wiltshire before the ceremony.
Planning her wedding, Vicky had her heart set on a 50s inspired dress. She wore a bespoke white lace gown by House of Mooshki complete with a satin tea length skirt. Vicky accessorised her look with flashes of colour, and wore soft neutral makeup by Anna White.
Her dress was paired with vintage style Misty bridal shoes from Pink at Paradox. The hand-dyed emerald heels matched the bespoke statement crystal wedding headband Laurie in emerald specially handcrafted by Britten Weddings.
The sparkling ornate headband suited the retro feel and looked perfect against the bride's loosely curled shoulder-length hair.
The jewel tones continued with the three bridesmaid dresses, with each bridesmaid in a rich coloured satin tea-length dress and frilly petticoat.
Reflecting on the day, Vicky said:
'The best thing we did was to have our couple and group photos before the ceremony. By the time we got to the ceremony, we felt so relaxed, we’d already seen half our guests checking in so there was nothing left to be nervous of. It also meant that we could get straight into champagne and canapes after the service! We had simply the most relaxed and fun day.
The team at The Moonraker looked after us so well and the food was amazing!'
The interior of The Moonraker suited the relaxed rustic theme the couple was hoping to achieve perfectly. Surrounded by exposed timber, golden fairy lights, and jars filled with white floral arrangements with green foliage, the wedding party sat down to enjoy a three-course meal of pea and mint soup, braised beef, and caramel and chocolate tart.
Continuing their alternative theme, the bride and groom treated guests to a five- tier savoury wedding cake made of different wheels of cheese from The Fine Cheese Company in Bath, decorated with white roses and fresh fruit.
Following the wedding reception, the evening celebrations kicked off with songs from The Salvation wedding band and guests partied into the early hours.
Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful images of your special day Vicky. You looked stunning and we think your crystal headband made the perfect finishing touch to your bridal outfit. We wish you both the very best for your future together.
