Once upon a time our beautiful real bride Francesca said 'I do' to James in the stunning and historic location of the West Barn in Bradford on Avon. The wedding took place on a rainy 22nd of September in 2018. This did not dampen the happy couple's spirits though and they were reassured that, in France, a rainy wedding is good luck!
Francesca made the wonderful decision to wear her Grandmother's elegant wedding dress from 1953 and only a few alterations were needed. The bride chose Britten Weddings for her veil and Ivy headpiece. Our 'Clara' pure silk, single tier, veil complimented her dress perfectly.
Their truly unique day was captured beautifully by photographer Noel Deasington. Francesca's mum grew and arranged the flowers herself and since then, the mother and daughter duo have started their very own floristry business. You can find them at The Botanical Lens on Instagram.
Francesca and James were keen to support small, local businesses (including our own!) and they found a wonderful caterer in Beth Al Rikabi. The Wedding cake was an incredible creation from Ahh toots cakery.
The wedding car was a 1953 Citreon Light 15 that had once belonged to Elvis Costello.
Francesca's favourite moment was when James surprised her by standing up and reading a poem by Raymond Carver. It was a very special moment of what was a perfectly intimate and relaxed day. We would like to thank Francesca for choosing Britten Weddings and we wish this gorgeous couple a long and happy life together.
