We've all been incredibly excited about the wedding of Harry and Meghan. On Saturday morning we eagerly awaited Meghan's arrival. Of course we were keen to see the dress but what we were most excited about was the veil. Meghan's veil was approximately five metres long (plus blusher)! That is a whole two metres longer than our cathedral length veils! The style she chose was a beautiful white drop veil made from crisp pure silk. A drop veil is a two tier veil with no gather. The trim was hand embroidered with flowers from all countries in the commonwealth- this must have taken forever! Kate also wore a drop veil in her wedding to Prince William in 2011 but hers was a soft silk whereas Meghan's veil was a crisp silk with a little more structure.
If you would like to recreate something similar to Meghan's veil we suggest you have a look through our drop veils. Our Adia veil is a crisp silk drop veil with a delicate lace edge.
If your budget won't stretch to silk and you like a floaty look our Rhiann veil would be a great option. Made from traditional tulle it is a beautiful classic option.
If you would like some kind of trim on your veil you can opt for a lace edge like Alyce or you can add personalised embroidery to your veil like Meghan. You don't need to have embroidery all round the edge and could opt for something a bit smaller like your and your partners initials or a single flower or symbol that means something to you as a couple.
If you have any questions or are interested in a bespoke veil then do get in touch- we'd love to hear from you.
