Stunning bride Olivia recently married with her urban style wedding in Shoreditch, East London.
Olivia officially married on the 17th October where her grandparents were witnesses, as they were unable to attend the big day in London on Saturday 19th October.
Their special day was captured by Photographer’s Hector and Charlie who run We Heart Pictures. Their photography is bold and creative aiming to tell stories and document real moments!
“We loved their fun and creative vibe!”
Olivia and Adam also had their day shot by Videographers Laura and Alan from This Modern Revelry.
The couple married in the Shoreditch Studios as they wanted a warehouse/ New York style theme to the wedding. It was a blank canvas for the couple which allowed them to really make it their own!
“We love city breaks, so really wanted an urban vibe to the wedding”
They also worked with a great lighting supplier to really make the venue stand out. Colour Blind Studio did an amazing job building custom light installations with drop bulbs which worked as a focal point.
Olivia wore a beautiful dress from Riki Dalal Couture, an Israeli designer who has a showroom in Marylebone, London.
“All the girls looked so glam! I wanted them all to feel great and not to be limited to one single hairstyle so they all went for something a bit different so they could feel themselves on the day!”
The look was paired with a Britten Weddings veil, the Crystal Scatter Barely There Wedding Veil - Athena which complemented the look with some sparkly details.
Olivia also teamed her look with a bespoke crown from Halo and Co and a pair of earrings and a matching necklace from a jewelers in her hometown in Guernsey called Guernsey Pearl, which were given to her by her father during a dinner with her parents and bridesmaids.
Olivia and Adam worked with The Wedding Arrangers, who helped quick start the initial thoughts and ideas about the wedding and then used a freelance event manager to organise the day.
The catering for the day was looked after by Sabel who feature the very best of produce, served with understanding and care.
“Sabel did all of the food for our wedding and what a spread it was. They are an absolute DREAM to work with and cooked some of the best food we have ever had. We ended up going for an Italian charcuterie board with meats, cheeses and olives. An american brisket dish for mains followed by an incredibly sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I am also a MASSIVE hot dog fan so they did us some hot dogs for our evening snack alongside, Crosstown Donuts and a cheese cake from La Fromagerie.”
“We aren’t big cake people so we didn’t want to spend a fortune on a cake. Instead we took a very kind offer from a close friend Kim, who is a star baker! She made us the most amazing cake and it was delicious!”
Both Olivia and Adam had chosen a day in October for their special day to give an autumnal, cosy and crisp feel to the day. This was also expressed in the flower choices and colour palette for the bouquet including beautiful ruby's and creams, amongst the thistle foliage.
“Tim and his amazing team at Birksen did our flowers for the day. We knew we wanted autumnal vibes and include thistles but we really let Tim do his thing in terms of making sure things were in season. They also created two amazing displays for us, one for the copper ceremony arch and one for the light installation - they used a lot of pampus grass style fauna to create an amazing look that worked so well with the venue!”
The couple decided not to have a traditional wedding band but decided to theme the second room as an underground nightclub and asked their friends Steve and Al, who are resident DJ’s at a local club in Tooting.
“We paired it with an awesome Saxophonist, who we discovered at our friend's wedding in Seville. We had to fly him in from Amsterdam but he was worth every penny!”
The first dance song was Coming Home by Leon Bridges which was playing on the last night of the couples Italian engagement holiday at a restaurant and felt like a nice choice!
A special moment of the day was when Olivia and Adam read their vows to each other which they had both written from scratch and wanted to make really personal. They both cried during the ceremony but it was a very special moment to experience with family and friends. Another special part of the day was when Olivia’s father walked her down the aisle:
Olivia is a huge book and film fan and wanted her wedding day to incorporate elements from both!
“I wanted lots of readings and I had a long list of ideas. We wanted them to be short and sweet but also to make sure they had a meaning to the person we had in mind to read them. We ended up going for five altogether including an excerpt from Meet Joe Black and the opening passage from Love Actually - one of my all time favourite films!”
Olivia and Adam are now saving for their honeymoon which they plan to take in may 2020, to Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands and Peru!
"We were lucky enough to win a short break to Portugal through a wedding website so we did that immediately after the wedding as a “minimoon!”
