History

Britten is the personal brand of designer Sarah Jane. Established 2009 it is one of the oldest wedding veil and accessories workshops. From the Georgian City of Bath Britten creates beautiful bridal pieces to be passed from generation to generation.

Sarah Jane was among the first designers to sell direct to brides online. 15 years later you still won't find Britten pieces in boutiques or department stores. Instead pieces are safely shipped to straight to brides in the UK, USA and worldwide every day.

Selling direct is the only reason Britten wedding veils and accessories are still English made. English couture, not mass production. Every piece is handcrafted and packaged by a single person.

Tens of thousands of brides have worn Britten pieces on their wedding day. We are grateful for every commission and every one of our nearly 4,000 reviews. 

Britten created many common concepts like personalised embroidery and the 'barely there' wedding veil style that is now a Britten registered design protected by the UK Intellectual Property Office. Sarah Jane is a graduate of Cordwainers College, London College of Fashion. Designing leather handbags and working in couture footwear led to Britten and a small interior design practice.
